How old must I be to use Socialight?

You must be at least 13 to use Socialight. If you're under 13, please wait until you're old enough. If you're under 18, you must get a parent's permission and guidance.

Keeping your location private

When creating a Sticky Note, on your mobile phone, the website, or via SMS, please be aware that you may be letting people know where you are, or were. At a minimum you are associating yourself with a place, sometimes at a particular time.

This type of location information can be sensitive, so please think carefully about who can see your Sticky Notes and who your contacts are.

Please remember that you can decide who can see your Sticky Notes. Stickies can be created just yourself, your contacts, or everyone. Sometimes it's best - and safest - to keep your life to yourself.

Safety Tips

• Do not put your phone number, residential address or e-mail address in your user name or profile
  Rather, send this information in a message to the people you trust- and only if you are sure you want to. People that you don't know can always contact you through Socialight and its much safer that way.
• Do not create a Sticky Note where you live and allow everyone to see it
  If you do create notes around places you live or work, it's best to only let your contacts see them.
• Know your contacts
  Socialight is designed to be used by people that know and trust each other, so please think about who you allow to be your contact. It's up to you, but ask yourself if you REALLY know them: Would you lend them your stuff or invite them to your house?

Report suspicious or illegal behavior

If something looks suspicious, whether that means unsafe usage, copyright infringement, illegal activities, any breaking of our Terms of Service, report that user or note to us at support[at]socialight.com. We'll investigate and take care of it.
